The Regional Director of Planned Giving within Hillsdale College’s Gift and Estate Planning Department serves as a leader in high-end donor relations and tax-related planned giving vehicles. Must be proficient in identifying and cultivating new and existing donors. Possesses extensive, verbal, writing, and people skills accompanied with the ability to communicate the College’s mission effectively. High integrity and devotion to donor intent and donor satisfaction are a must. Remote work with 40% of travel expected This territory will consist primarily of California, Nevada, and Colorado. Additional nationwide travel will be required. Candidates must be experienced in the world of philanthropy, strategic thinking and be self-motivated to succeed.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance, Economics, Marketing, or Accounting. Prior experience in development or fundraising or 3 to 5 years of equivalent work, preferably in an institution of higher education or a similarly complex organization desired. Previous charitable planned giving experience or proficient knowledge of charitable giving vehicles preferred.

The Gift and Estate Planning Office interacts with current donors and potential donors. A professional appearance and a pleasant relationship that is supportive of the College mission is essential. This relationship needs to be engaging, supportive, and professional while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Physical Requirements
Ability to read, write, hear, speak, see, and communicate effectively. Ability to operate basic office equipment including, photocopiers, fax machines, adding machines, computer equipment, display monitors, and the like. Occasional lifting of office supplies, booklets, etc. is necessary.
